Vilander won singing in the rain

The Finnish German dynamic duo Toni Vilander and Dirk Müller controlled the rainy street race of Bucharest in the most demanding circumstances and won superiorly again the FIA GT2 class trophy.

It was third race of the season and third win for the Team AF Corse pairing driving the Ferrari 430. The whole race was run in the rain. Vilander and Müller managed to avoid all kind of accidents and finished the sixth overall with their clean attack from the back.

- The circuit never dried out. It was like Monaco in a rain. We pushed through between the concrete walls and managed to keep the car in the line without touching anything, Vilander described.

It did not look good at all after Saturday.

- We had an engine failure and lost the second session of the practise and also the qualifying. That meant that we had to start from the last place. But, at the end of the day, it did not matter. We had a very good strategy and managed to gain some time also with the first pitstop while the safety car was employed, Vilander explained.

The Finnish driver started the race and was in the car also during the last stint.

- Because of the rain we could also overtake some GT1 cars. It was good fun, Vilander thanked.

After three victories in a row Vilander and Müller had to take ten more kilos to their Ferrari for the next race. That means the total of 78 kilos extra
weight in the next round in Monza in June.

- It is getting tougher and tougher to win. 78 kilos means a lot especially in a circuit like Monza, Vilander summorized.
