Toni Vilander - FIA GT2 CHAMPION 2007&2008

Spa-Francorchamps 24h

At the end Bruni, Companc, Melo and Vilander, after winning the pole position, won the race. They arrived first in the GT2 class and fourth in all, showing the great performance of the Michelin tyres and how the Ferrari F430 car became fast and steady. An important and deserved victory in one of the most difficult and selective 24 hour race, where the weather can change the traction of the track and cause several problems.

Despite the difficulties, the car n. 50 always kept the lead, leaving no chance for the others to overcome. What a pity for the other car, the n.51, forced to leave the race just a few hours before the chequered flag for a problem at the suspension. Barba, Cadei, Kaffer e Russo were having a very nice race and always competing with their team mates. Amato Ferrari is very happy for this second win but at the same time he’s very disappointed for the other car: the drivers where doing a perfect job and without this banal problem the finishing of the race could have been gorgeous.

For Bruni and Vilander this winning is very important, they are first in the drivers classification with 24 points and AfCorse consolidated the first place in the team classification. On the podium Amato Ferrari and the drivers celebrated the second victory of the 24 hour race in Spa in the history of the team AF Corse.
